Dive courses
A dive course in Komodo is an opportunity not to be missed. The only drawback? You will get, well, spoiled for life as it will be hard to find anything comparable afterwards!
About
Our diving courses
Our instructors are multi-lingual, with years of experience and happy to start a new diving adventure with you. We have online and offline manuals, as well as DVDs for your learning needs and a comfortable classroom where you can learn and study. We also have dive sites with just the ideal conditions where you can practice your diving skills. With our courses, we prefer to limit the number of students to two or three per instructor. At Flores Diving Centre we offer PADI™ courses, supplemented with our knowledge of the local diving environment. Below is a list of the courses we offer:
PADI Suba Diver Course
The PADI SCUBA DIVER course is done in 2 days and the price is 6,500,000.

2nd day: confined water sessions (1-3) in the morning and 1st and 2nd open water dives at some easy dive sites in the afternoon.

Emergency First Responder (EFR) course
The Emergency First Responder (EFR) course is done in 1 day and the price is 3,200,000 including training equipment and certificate.
This is a ‘dry’ course focusing on Emergency 1st Aid.
You will go over the theory and do practical scenarios with your instructor so you will be ready to effectively respond to out-of-water emergency situations.
PADI Rescue Diver Course
The PADI RESCUE DIVER course is done in 3 days and you will learn how to respond to emergency situations both underwater and on the surface. The price of the course is 7,200,000 and includes equipment, PADI certification (e-card) and online manual. It does not include the park & harbour fees on day 3.
We organize it like this:
– 1st day: theory;
– 2nd day: confined water session (rescue exercises in shallow water);
– 3rd day: open water session (2 dives in open water practicing the rescue exercises).
The PADIDIVEMASTER course is done in 4 weeks during which you will:
– learn how to guide people and take care of them underwater
– learn how to do comprehensive briefings
– learn how to draw diving maps
– get to know the dive sites
– assist instructors during several diving courses
– learn how to set up a diving scenario
– learn how to handle emergencies
– learn about compressors, dive equipment and equipment maintenance
… and much more!
The course lasts 4 weeks but does not have a set number of dives, it really depends on what happens at the dive centre on a daily basis. If we go out you normally go out too though you will also have 3 days alone with your instructor in order to do your theory, water skills and deep & mapping sessions. There will be other days when you assist your instructor with confined water training, Discover Scuba Experiences, etc.
The course price is 25,000,000 IDR and includes lunch on board when diving, park & harbour fees and scuba equipment, except the following 4 mandatory personal equipment items that you are required to bring along for the course: dive computer, compass, wetsuit and DSMB (Deployable Surface Marker Buoy with reel/line). The price above does not include Divemaster CrewPack (3,250,000 IDR) and PADI certification costs (245.00 AUD).
As a prerequisite of the Divemaster course you must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 15 logged hours and 45 dives documented on your logbook.
Discover Scuba Experience
The Discover Scuba Experience or DSE (2 dives, 2,850,000 + park, & harbour fees) is not a certification course but just an easy and wonderful diving experience for those who never tried diving before but do not have the time or the resolve (yet) to enroll in an Open WaterDiver course.
You will receive a thorough briefing and practice some easy skills in shallow water before going out for 2 real open water dives, hand in hand with our instructor. It is going to be exhilarating and you will be left wanting for more!
